| What's your full embarrassing name? | Tor Martin Duffin |
| Married, or are you young, free and single and like to mingle? | In a relationship |
| Where do you live? | Fukushima, Japan |
| Do you work or stay at home? | Teaching English |
| How long have you been a member at Stubbington? | Since 2002 |
| Can you remember your first race? | A muddy Today's Runner at QE Country Park |
| How often do you bother to go training? | 4 or 5 times a week. Will try and keep swimming once a week too. |
| What is your favourite training run? | From Hill Head to Warsash and back, via the shore, Solent Breezes, Hook Park, Chilling Lane and Brownwich cliffs. About 11 miles. |
| What was your best ever race? | Best is still to come! But so far: the Banbury 15 (Oxon) in March 06 as well as the Southerns XC at Parliament Hill 05 and Devon 06. The longer, hillier and muddier the better. |
| And what was your worst or most embarrassing race? | 2 spring to mind. First, getting lost on the way to the Newbury Wessex XC, missing the race and causing 2 other Stubbies to miss the start as they were giving me directions on the phone. Second, eating too soon before the Great West. Miraculously kept everything down during the run but that portaloo at the end never knew what hit it! |
| Do you have a pre-race ritual? | A few seconds under a cold shower first thing does wonders. |
| What is the best piece of gear you have bought? | Walsh XC shoes |
| Worst piece of gear? | Saucony trainers. Felt like running with club-foot. |
| Why do you run when you could be sat at home watching EastEnders? | Because it's too much effort not to go for a run. And being out in the fresh air is inifinitely better than watching a soap. |
| What does she/he who must be obeyed think about your running? | My flatmates just leave me to it. |
| What is the one piece of advice you would give to any new runner ? | Buy your shoes from a running specialist; start slowly over short distances and build it up gradually. |
