Married to Euan.

Where do you live?

Do you work or stay at home?

I am a supply teacher for primary schools in the area, so have the flexibility to have days at home, or rather running with the dog!

How long have you been a member at Stubbington?

Since March 2009.

Can you remember your first race?

X-C races at secondary school. Our school backed onto the sand dunes and we ran to the sea and back.

How often do you bother to go training?

Monday and Thursday pms when hubby has not encroached on my time! During the day if I am not working.

What is your favourite training run?

Along the sea front around the Chilling area.

What was your best ever race?

Probably the RR10 series of races as they are x-c and good distances for me.

And what was your worst or most embarrassing race?

I am not a fan of road races and I found the HRRL solent half marathon tough.

Do you have a pre-race ritual?

Eating a bag of crisps for the salt content! (Honest)

What is the best piece of gear you have bought?

Fitted comfortable trainers and my Garmin watch with the Velcro strap so that it actually fits my wrist.

Worst piece of gear?

Haven’t found one yet.

Why do you run when you could be sat at home watching EastEnders?

Escapism from the daily ongoing chores when you have children!!

What does she/he who must be obeyed think about your running?

Thinks it’s fantastic as it is something we can do together on race days, but separately on evenings?! It’s even better if I am unable to go so that he can go more often.

What is the one piece of advice you would give to any new runner?

Laser eye surgery if you have less than perfect vision!
 ‘Always do your best and try hard’ – Shona my 8 year old daughters advice!
