| Do you work or stay at home? | I'm a Physical Training Instructor (PTI = Gym Queen) & Remedial Instructor (RI = Physioterrorist) in The Navy |
| How long have you been a member at Stubbington? | Only since December 2006 (Still have to run for the RNAC on the track and Country) I did used to train with Zippy and Tony "Half Rep" Allen a few years back |
| Can you remember your first race? | A Cross Country race in March, Cambridgeshire for my Junior School in 1978!! |
| How often do you bother to go training? | Every day, sometimes twice a day (well it's my job to be fit) |
| What is your favourite training run? | My most favourite run route was when I lived in Gibraltar , running just past the RN Hospital down a palm tree lined road with views of the Rock to your left, Spain to the right, Africa in front of you and the sun above! Oh and the Stubbington 10k route here as it passes my house (not quite the same). |
| What was your best ever race? | The World Cross Country Championships, Short and Long Course in Portugal 2000 (yes I really did run and wasn't last) |
| And what was your worst or most embarrassing race? | The very same World Championships getting lapped live on Grandstand (well at least it looked like I was in front for a few moments) |
| Do you have a pre-race ritual? | Mobilise my body, 10 mins light jog, dynamic stretching and strides and a steely stair |
| What is the best piece of gear you have bought? | Garmin Forerunner 305 GPS Running Watch |
| Worst piece of gear? | Power Breath Sport Version!!!! |
| Why do you run when you could be sat at home watching EastEnders? | That's why I run so I don't have to sit through that rubbish |
| What does she/he who must be obeyed think about your running? | Not very happy as I'm always tired! |
| What is the one piece of advice you would give to any new runner? | Set realistic goals, achieve them and keep a run log |
