What's your full embarrassing name? Lucy Caroline May.
Married, or are you young, free and single and like to mingle? Spoken for but still haven't got my Aston Martin out of him... yet!
Where do you live? Fareham.
Do you work or stay at home? Work still as a lifeguard at the pyramids but also for an M.O.D pool.
How long have you been a member at Stubbington? Since 1997.
Can you remember your first race? It was probably an egg and spoon race at school! However first proper one was The Junior Great South Run getting the medal was the best bit!
How often do you bother to go training? Not much running at the moment due to another injury but swimming most days and starting cycling again.
What is your favourite training run? I like running anywhere down here where you can have a nice quiet run.
What was your best ever race? Totton 10km in 2003. I did a pb with minimal training-dad wasn't impressed that I was only 4mins behind him. And the southdowns relay even though I got injured it was just an amazing day full of team spirit!
And what was your worst or most embarrassing race? The 2005 Southern Cross Country Champs at Parliament Hill. I blame the appalling run on walking from my halls to the start and being tired from that, not the fact I had done no training once again for the race!
Do you have a pre-race ritual? Keep well hydrated the days leading up. Pasta doesn't go a miss the night before and porridge in the morning. A warm up and stretching If there's people massaging-try to get one, if not I give myself a quick one. Oh and go to the loo before the start!
What is the best piece of gear you have bought? Some special Nike running socks for woman. Bit expensive but worth every penny
Worst piece of gear? Most sports bras! Holds everything in as they should, but usually to tight round the chest so I can't actually breathe!
Why do you run when you could be sat at home watching EastEnders? Because it's rubbish! And I enjoy running.
What does she/he who must be obeyed think about your running? Well both parents run so they're like minded about it. They have always been very understanding and supportive throughout the many years. And the other half-well I'm female so I'm in charge!
What is the one piece of advice you would give to any new runner? Enjoy it, start slowly and build up. Most importantly know your body-know when your body is trying to tell you to stop or slow down. If you do get injured don't leave it get it treated properly!
