I work at St George's Hospital in Tooting as a trainee cardiologist. |

Since the age of 14 (I think) – about 13 years |
| Can you remember your first race? |
Stubbington Green 10km aged 16 or 17 - 45 mins dead. |
| How often do you bother to go training? |
I try to run at least 3 to 4 times per week. Plus cycling and swimming – so that's about 13-14 hours a week. |
| What is your favourite training run? |
Around Richmond Park, or along the cliffs if I am at home. |
| What was your best ever race? |
Henley Half Marathon 2006 – cause I won! |
| And what was your worst or most embarrassing race? |
Worst race – World triathlon championships. Biggest race of my life, and I felt rubbish from start to finish. |
| Do you have a pre-race ritual? |
Eminem before big races, and a bit of fruit cake! |
| What is the best piece of gear you have bought? |
New cycling top from Gore last week. Brilliant!. Does three things at once. |
| Worst piece of gear? |
Any running waterproof. Have tried a few – a waste of time! |
| Why do you run when you could be sat at home watching EastEnders? |
Cause I get depressed with EastEnders. Plus the feeling of moving well, under your own steam, across beautiful countryside. Best thing in the world. |

| What is the one piece of advice you would give to any new runner? |
Take it steady – mix hard runs with easy runs to recover. Keep your own goals and stick to them! |
