What's your full embarrassing name? Colin Jason Elderfield.
Married, or are you young, free and single and like to mingle?

Single.

Where do you live?

Gosport.

Do you work or stay at home?

I work for ASDA superstore in fareham in the warehouse (keeps me fit!).

How long have you been a member at Stubbington?

10 years with Stubbington.

Can you remember your first race?

Portsmouth Half Marathon in 1994.

How often do you bother to go training?

Three times a week with club and a long weekend run alone.

What is your favourite training run?

From Fareham Leisure Centre - North Hill, A32, Nine Elms Lane, Portsdown Hill, back to fareham along the A27 to the Delme Arms Hotel, past Sainsburys, right onto the Wickham Road, and left up North Hill to the leisure centre.

What was your best ever race?

The Beast trail race, 14 miles from Corfe Castle in Dorset.

And what was your worst or most embarrassing race?

Fleet Half Marathon. I had to pull out after three miles with pulled right leg muscle.

Do you have a pre-race ritual?

I do a gentle warm up jog and check my blood sugar level since I am diabetic.

What is the best piece of gear you have bought?

A lime coloured high visibility vest with flashing lights.

Worst piece of gear?

A water bottle worn on the belt that leaked!

Why do you run when you could be sat at home watching EastEnders?

To keep fit and give motorists stuck in a traffic jam something different to look at.

What is the one piece of advice you would give to any new runner?

You only get out of a sport what you put in. Try to start with running between lamp posts, short sharp distances, build up mileage later, and hills where possible. Drink plenty before a run, use the loo, drink again, no food for an hour and a half before run (not including a diabetic-seek medical advice). Advise fellow-runners of your medical condition.
