What's your full embarrassing name? Christopher James Munro
Married, or are you young, free and single and like to mingle? Young, free and single.
Where do you live? Manchester when at University and home is in Fareham.
Do you work or stay at home? I am a student at the University of Manchester doing an MSc in Applied Numerical Computing in the Maths department.
How long have you been a member at Stubbington? Since January 2005.
Can you remember your first race? Fittingly, the Stubbington Green 10k in 2005.
How often do you bother to go training? I try to run four times a week, and swim once a week.
What is your favourite training run? The Whiteley pyramid session is always a good one!
What was your best ever race? Hayling 10, I did the GSR about four weeks before in about 85 mins, I managed 74 mins so was happy with that!
And what was your worst or most embarrassing race? I "finished" third doing 800m only to be told at the end that I had broken early and hence disqualified. I was a bit annoyed since they had two sets of flags, however I suppose I should pay attention.
Do you have a pre-race ritual? For breakfast I have green tea, orange juice, a banana, plus porridge and treacle. I always get to races early and then spend some time warming up and stretching.
What is the best piece of gear you have bought? Vaseline = no blisters on feet!
Worst piece of gear? Adidas Climacool trainers. They gave me blisters. They're also not very good for British weather since they have vents in the bottom which let in water as well as keeping your feet cool. A bit of a waste of money.
Why do you run when you could be sat at home watching EastEnders? There is no TV in my flat, I am far too busy running!
What does she/he who must be obeyed think about your running? I can do what I like, there is no one to check up on me now!
What is the one piece of advice you would give to any new runner? Use vaseline on your feet to stop blisters.
