| What's your full embarrassing name? |
Christian Furnell. |
| Married, or are you young, free and single and like to mingle? |
I'm 15. |
| Where do you live? |
Portchester. |
| Do you work or stay at home? |
I work, not very hard, though, in a newsagents in Portchester. |
| How long have you been a member at Stubbington? |
Only since October 2006. |
| Can you remember your first race? |
Yeah, it was a cross country race in Poole. I was so busy watching the girls race that I missed the start of mine! |
| How often do you bother to go training? |
Between 2-3 times a week. |
| What is your favourite training run? |
Long training sessions with Penny Forse at the Mountbatten Centre. |
| What was your best ever race? |
The junior Butser Hill Run in 2006, which I won! |
| And what was your worst or most embarrassing race? |
A pointless cross country course for the local sports day in Cornwall. I stopped about 200 metres before the finish because I wasn't winning! |
| Do you have a pre-race ritual? |
Listen to music from the mp3 player, it gets me in a running mood! |
| What is the best piece of gear you have bought? |
Asics' running trainers from Sport World. They cost £30 and they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever had. |
| Worst piece of gear? |
A 'waterproof' running coat that wasn't waterproof! |
| Why do you run when you could be sat at home watching EastEnders? |
Because my sister watches EastEnders and I can't fall to her standards |
| What does she/he who must be obeyed think about your running? |
Well I will refer to my parents. Mum shows interest, but I think she pretends, and my Dad, who lives in Newcastle, is very proud of me! At least I hope he is. |
| What is the one piece of advice you would give to any new runner? |
Definitely stick at it. You might not feel like your getting anywhere to start with, but once you start running regularly you feel better and better! |
