Stubbington Green Runners & AC

Caroline Street

What's your full embarrassing name? Caroline Mary Street
Married, or are you young, free and single and like to mingle? Amazingly I'm still married. Long story .
Where do you live? Titchfield.
Do you work or stay at home? This could be another long one ... Am currently taking three months out. Expecting to be back in full-time work from January 2006.
How long have you been a member at Stubbington? Since September 1992.
Can you remember your first race? Great South Run.
How often do you bother to go training? When someone else is available for a chat and other activities allow it. Can be anything from two to six times a week, depending what's on.
What is your favourite training run? Every run's a training run ... there's always something else lined up. By viewing every run as "training for something else", there's never any pressure. Prefer running off road, though.
What was your best ever race? If we're measuring "best" by enjoyment then it has to be the Grizzly or the Mid Cornwall Coastal Challenge (33 miles off road). Timewise, it would have to be getting under 50 mins for the Collingwood 10k.
And what was your worst or most embarrassing race? Can't think of one - must have carefully erased these from my memory!
Do you have a pre-race ritual? Chat, drink, chat, wee, chat, (repeat as time allows)!
What is the best piece of gear you have bought? I didn't buy it ... I'm not that sort of girl. It would have to be my support team.
Worst piece of gear? Off-road shoes. Can't bear to put them on any more.
Why do you run when you could be sat at home watching EastEnders? It's a social event.
What does she/he who must be obeyed think about your running? Back to my support team. With Glen spending most of his time injured, he actually says he enjoys coming along to support me.
What is the one piece of advice you would give to any new runner? Join a club so you can find someone of similar ability to share your training (and chat) with.
