PETER Moreton was Stubbington's lone representative at the Tadley Runners Christmas Cross Country Race. The 5.3-mile race in North Hampshire attracted 125 runners, and Peter recorded a time of 46min 19sec to finish in 59th position. The race was won by Graham Bungay from Southampton Running Club in 33:01, with unattached runner, Angela Jones, to first lady runner home in 40:09 for 20th overall.
FLEET-footed Rod Nairn chalked up the fifth fastest Vet 45 run at the prestigious Victory 5 in Portsmouth on Sunday. More.... Victory 5

PORTSMOUTH Football Club fanatic, Chris Hall, has had a few things on his mind of late. There's been the small matter of Pompey's fragile Premiership survival, whether Harry Redknapp is going to return as the new manager at Fratton Park, and the small matter on Saturday afternoon of a Titanic tussle against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

But Chris managed to put all those worries behind him for 32 minutes at Ashe Meadow in Overton for the third round of the Hampshire Cross Country League. More....

LAST weekend saw the 200th anniversary of The Battle of Trafalgar. As thousands across the country gathered to witness the commemorations, there was another memorable battle being played out in the sleepy Hampshire village of Denmead, with victory for Stubbington's men at the local 10k. STUBBINGTON'S Paul Farquharson clocked 20min 18sec for 53rd place at the Winchester 5km road race. The midweek event which started and finished at The Broadway in Winchester, attracted a strong field, with the race won by Southampton Running Club's Rod Finch in 15:38, followed by Winchester's Matthew King in 16.03. Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers' Lucy Elliott was the first woman home in 16:52. Other Stubbington runners taking part included Paul Marchese whose time of 24:24 helped him to win the male 65 category, and Jane Heywood was the fifth fastest W40 with a time of 27:21 for 163rd overall.
