LYMINGTON RNLI 10K
For anyone looking for a very enjoyable 10k in lovely scenery then try this one next year. This year’s RNLI charity race took place on Sunday 8th May in breezy but otherwise good running conditions.
This was the 10th year for this run which took place on the coast between Lymington and Keyhaven. The circular route followed country lanes and the flat coastal path along the sea wall with views across the Solent to the Isle of Wight.
Approx. 870 runners took part but it never felt crowded and was very well organised and marshalled. The wind was in your face on the way out but gave a nice push in the back on the way home!
A shame that it clashed with the HRRL Alton 10 but for those looking for a change I would strongly recommend this race – not least for the food choices at the end and great massage! 4 stubbies made the day, I saw James and Nick at the finish and watched as Nick hobbled off back to his yacht having slept awkwardly and aggravated a hip twinge (should have gone for the massage Nick!).
