Great South Run
On behalf of the Stubbington Ark (RSPCA Solent Branch) Animal Shelter, I am writing with regards to the Great South Run, held in Portsmouth on 30th October.
The Stubbington Ark is looking for charity runners to participate in the Great South Run to help raise vital funds to support the Ark in caring for thousands of vulnerable animals each year.
The Ark is the focus for local RSPCA animal welfare services covering 400sq.miles including the Portsmouth, Winchester and Southampton area. It provides shelter for all manner of animals, domestic, wildlife, farm stock and exotics and there are usually more than 500 animals on site at any one time. As you can imagine our running costs are extremely high and we have to raise over £3,000 per day to keep the shelter running.
I would therefore be grateful if you would kindly display the attached poster at Stubbington Green Runners & Athletics Club in order to inform your members about the event.
All prospective runners need to do is raise a minimum of £150 in sponsorship money (which includes a deposit of £30) to secure their place on the run. However, if a member of Stubbington Green Runners & Athletics Club already has a place in the Great South Run and is interested in running for the Stubbington Ark, we would be very happy for them to contact us.
