Eastleigh parkrun
18 Stubbington Runners completed the 5K Eastleigh parkrun on Saturday 2nd July with Keith running his 50th run at Eastleigh – Jane Adlard was also running but I think she must have forgotten her barcode so her result details have not been recorded (email to eastleighOffice@parkrun.com and all will be sorted).
Sue Simister wanted to make sure that we were all adequately refuelled after the run and had decided to run 1 lap and then be waiting at the finish line with some tasty cup cakes. The lovely green icing was certainly a talking point! Jaz provided cake reinforcements in-between bouts of calf massages.
The parkrun is run by volunteers and it was good to see not only Stubbington Green Runners but also Stubbington Green volunteers. Matthew Ashman, Ann Blake, Peter Hutchinson and Tommy Blake all helped to make sure the event went smoothly with Glen Street providing encouragement out on the course.

Thank you to you lovely people for your support on my 50th parkrun, an absolutely cracking day with so many Stubbies. My family who I did NOT know were coming along thought it was brilliant. Oh and for those who did not know, the dad of young Kate Crowe who ran his first parkrun at Eastleigh is setting up a parkrun in Inverness for 2012. Anyone fancy a trip as a 1st footer so to speak?
