Wessex League, Avon Heath
The final cross country of the winter season was run at Avon Heath Country Park on Sunday and four Stubbies managed the trip, two of them after doing the Eastleigh 10k!
In the Ladies race Lucy May had to run, as her Dad had to make it being the cross country sec, ‘I’ll just run round as I’ve just done the 10k’ well she came in a creditable 11th out of 15.
In the Mens race Gordon Westley led home the team coming in 13th with Phil and Keith Whitaker coming in 21st and 22nd. The team came 5th over all and 3rd vet.
Keith and Gordon managed all but one of the races, the long trip to Yeovil, so can be congratulated on a consistent performance throughout the season. Well Done both of you.
It is not intended to run these races next season but Gordon is keen to run them and if any other runners are interested then let Phil know and we’ll keep on doing them.
