Todays Runner, Liss
Weather permitting the next round of the Todays Runner League takes place on Sunday 24th January at Rogate Common near Liss starting at 11.00am.
To get to the race venue take the A3 from Portsmouth and leave on the slip road just past Petersfield (signposted A272 Midhurst). The road passes over the A3 and at the roundabout turn left and follow the road past the Half Moon pub, rising up a steep hill and then continue on the same road for approximately 2 miles. Turn right at the staggered crossroads by the Drovers pub and follow this road for a mile to another staggered crossroads. Here turn right to get down to the race venue where cars are to be parked on the wide verges of the lane. The start is over the style into the wooded area at the wood/field edge. Please leave enough time to walk from your car to the start as it may be at least a 10 minute walk away for latecomers.
There are no changing or toilet facilities available at this site (although there are plenty of bushes!) and no food is being provided due to the lack of a local hall being available.
Just a reminder that the race following this one is our own race due to be held at Manor Farm Country Park, Hamble on the 7th February and I am looking for a large number of volunteers to assist in the marshalling of this event to ensure it all runs smoothly. If you are able to assist in any way please contact me at john_tussler@hotmail.com or on 02392 347962 as your help would be greatly appreciated.
Di and her ever willing team of helpers will be laying on food after the race and I am sure she would welcome contributions of cakes so please contact her on 01329 662091 if you can help in this respect. This race clashes with an HRRL race in Ryde so it is possible that we could be short on numbers running so it would also help if you could let me know if you plan to run so that we can ensure we have a complete team. John Tussler.
