RR10, Deer Leap Inclosure, Ashurst - 2 June 2010
Once again 48 Stubbies enjoyed the warmth of the evening sun in near perfect conditions at Deer Leap Inclosure, Ashurst for the 4th RR10 of the year.
With many the senior men “resting up” before the South Downs Relay on Saturday it was left to the “veterans” to form the bulk of the A team behind the charging Lewis, who finished an excellent 2nd on the night. Chris, Dave, Ray and myself making up the rest of the A team who finished 3rd team.
In the ladies race it was Susie, Sally and Penny teamwork that resulted in 5th place on the night. Lets hope that this speed session pays dividends on the South Downs too.

The next race is on Wednesday 9th June at Recreation Ground, Blackfield and is hosted by Hardley Runners, starting at 7:30pm. If you fancy some liquid refreshment after the race, the chosen pub is The Pilgrims Inn, Marchwood - directions here.

The following warning has been posted on the RR10 site regarding our race on 23rd June. Please be aware as this will apply for our practise run on 16th June too.
WARNING - RACE 6 PARKING - WARNING
We have been informed that meters have been installed at the Manor Farm Country Park car park and that we shall have to pay £2 per car on June 23rd. There is not much hope that we can get this changed now, so please prepare accordingly. Make sure you have the correct change and arrive in plenty of time in case there is a last minute rush for tickets. This is obviously an incentive for car sharing, or would be an opportunity to 'park and run' from a free car park nearby (if there is one - any ideas?).
