BUTSER HILL CHALLENGE 26/09/10 – Penny Forse
200 athletes tackled the highest peak in Hampshire not just once, but 3 times!
Standing at 270m this is not a challenge to be taken lightly even though Chris Hall says ‘Its only 4½ miles!” Chris has run this race umpteen times, but for Emily, Donna & me it was our first attempt.
On the 3rd ascent I said “Never again!” but the spectacular view of QE Forest and the downhill grassland finish got me thinking about better preparation for next year! Great runs from everyone, as they say “Everyone’s a winner!” but a particular mention should go to our new member Emily who had a brilliant run for 2nd place.
