Andy Vernon, second claim SGR&AC member, runs in the Commonwealth Games 10000m in New Delhi at 3.25pm BST on Monday 11 October.

It is being shown on BBC2 (but please check the TV Guide that it hasn't been switched to BBC1). His well-earned selection goes some way to make up for his non-selection for the UK team at Barcelona for the recent European Championships.

The European 10000m would have been another superb 'stepping-stone' experience for London 2012 but now, at the Commonwealths, he has the chance to compete against the Africans who dominate this event. All at Stubbington Green Runners & AC will be yelling at our TV screens for Andy on the 11th!
