RR10 - 4 Deer Leap Enclosure - Ashurst
Calling all Stubbington RR10 runners and supporters.
Wednesday's unfortunate marshalling error highlights the need for people to be well briefed and confident before the start of any event.
In Hardley's case one marshall was uncertain and sent the field the wrong way. This may have been avoided had the course been marked and taped with some direction markers particularly at crucial points such as where this error occurred. Very unfortunate for Stubbington, as many of our team were very well placed at the time it happened with only just over a mile to the finish. Anyway the now well established beer and chips de-brief at the Pilgim Inn allowed for some cheer.
This coming Wednesday 17th June is a marshalls 'rehearsal' evening jog at Manor Farm we meet at 6.45pm for 7pm in the parking area at the top of the entrance close to the start finish areas of our events. I will be delighted if we can have as good a turnout as last year, perhaps those of you from the beginners course could make it too? A lot of you have said you'll be there but I can't have enough helpers.
Some of you will hopefully get the same post as last year so speak up if that applies to you. Paul Hammond and I will be marking the course during the afternoon of the actual event 24th June. Please try to get out this week if you can make it.
For those of you who can't (several members have spoken to me already), please try to get to the country park as early as possible on the race evening itself.
