Hayling 10
Five intrepid Stubbies braved the challenging conditions last Sunday morning to take part in the Hayling 10 (or Force 10) as it turned out.
At the start conditions were not too bad but the dark skies over to the west were threatening all the time and eventually at about 4 miles for me the horizontal rain really cooled things down and later this was followed by hailstones which has prompted me to get a longsleeve running top as they were quite painful. Despite the conditions everyone had good runs with PB's for Marcus, myself and Alan.
James Baker won in 54.18, first Stubbie home in 20th position was Tony Smith in a time of 1.03.15.
Marcus Lee: 1.12.38 - 91st
John Simister: 1.20.10 - 191st
Alan White: 1.23.09 - 216th
Robert Spencer: 1.39.55 - 360th
Even the walk back to the sea front car park was an experience with the wind funnelling through the gaps in the buildings at a tremendous speed, but at least the rain had stopped.
Report by John Simister.
