Hants League XC, Goodwood
A great turnout for the second Hampshire Cross Country race.
The rain held off for the races and the course was dry after the rain on Friday. Eight girls turned out for the womens race and once again Georgie led the team home with a finish in 25th and a time around 23 minutes.
New to the team was Faye Banks who out sprinted Penny to finish in 47th and Penny in 48th. Margie came in next followed by Sally who was 63rd and five places down was Lucy in a time of 27 minutes. Jaz and Sharon then came in, Sharon struggling after a cold during the week.
The team scored 120 points which moves them up the table.

The mens race had 15 Stubbies turn out and it was good to see the team not include any vets! First home for the team was Elliot in a creditable 46th and after an exhausting day on the Friday at training camp, maybe we all need to carry a log for 1.5 miles the day before racing! Zippy not far behind in 50th was quickly followed by Andy in 56th. Dan Gueran improved on his position at Farley Mount from 123rd to 96th obviously improving as the season progresses, Wayne completed the team in 107th giving the points total of 355 and improving our average in the league.
Good runs from Ray, Graham and Nick should see the vets team improve on their Farley score as well. Colin Enjoyed his first race of the season and just held off John Gueran, Keith, Eric and Neil completed the Stubby team.
The Mens team ended up first in div 2 by 6 points ahead of Poole Road Runners who still head the league by 19 points. In the Vets league we’re still in 5th place in Div 2.
