Braishfield Beer Race
A pint of beer after a hot 5mile run is always welcome and that's what the competitors who finished the Braishfield Beer Race were treated to on a warm Sunday morning near Romsey.
First home was Mike Grist of Poole Runners in a time of 27:04 for the somewhat undulating course. Not far behind in 7th place overall was the first lady finisher, Karen Rushton of Southampton Running Club, just breaking the 30 minute barrier with a time of 29:59.
Two Stubbies braved the beer; unusually the first Stubby to finish was Richard Snell, in a time of 36:00, followed by Zac Conaty in 37:02. Zac normally faster than Richard put his time down to drinking several pints of beer the night before as part of his training. Richard Snell.
