Paul HammondBishops Waltham, a lovely market town that hosts a five mile road race each summer. Organised by the local rotary club the race starts and finishes at the local fire station.

The route takes the runners out of town towards Swanmore, up Hampton hill towards Dundridge, followed by a steep downhill section with a nice flat run to the finish. This year seven Stubbies tackled the course on a warm and somewhat humid Sunday morning.

Paul Hammond was the first of them home in 34:21 (2nd male vet), then Richard Simms 36:50, John Simister 37:53, Alan White 39:20, Chris Haskell 46:10, Julia Haskell 48:16, Ann Blake 48:36 well done on her first race in the green vest.

The mens race was won by Julian Manning of Denmead Striders in 27:24, and the ladies race by Tracy Louise Lancaster of Fareham Crusaders in 34:23. There were 129 entries. Paul Hammond.
