Stubbington Green Runners

Today's Runner, Liss

The results of the latest Todays Runner Winter League Race at Liss are now in.

The Ladies team continue to impress with victory, thanks to an impressive 2nd place from Georgie Gair, backed up by Penny Forse 7th and Lucy Simmonds 13th.  Susie McGregor came home in 15th, and Louise James 22nd.

Annie Tomlinson continues her impressive winter running with her best result so far in 28th, and Bev Lavery came in at 31st.  There were 89 lady finishers.

Penny Forse commented, "Unfortunately at ¾ of the race completed Bev Lavery was up with me, then had a very bad fall – twisting her ankle and damaging a couple of fingers. She bravely continued the race, and I’m sure the club will join with me in wishing her a speedy recovery in time for the 10km on Sunday".

For the men, Andy Simpson 3rd, Ray Gunner 9th, Mike Harper 38th, Jon Leigh 47th and Mike James 57th brought the mens team home in 4th place behind Farnham Runners, Portsmouth Joggers and Denmead Striders.

Other mens results were Tim Sullivan 74th, Chris Munro 75th, Richard Snell 98th, Nick Crane 109th, John Tussler 121st, Neil Jarvis 126th, John Vose 140th, Paul Hailwood 151st, Derek Balsdon 154th and Andy Tomlinson 164th.  There were 173 male finishers.

This meant Stubbington finished =1st overall with Farnham Runners, and keeps both clubs at =1st for the season so far.

Don't forget 20th January is the next race at Lord Wandsworth College.  Then it's our own race at Manor Farm on Sunday 10th February, so this is an initial call for marshalls - if you have marshalled before then that would be great, as you will know what is required.  Also, Di will probably be chasing people to help make sandwiches and bake cakes......
