Stubbington Green Runners

All to Run For At Manor Farm And Denmead

Lord Wandsworth CollegeAfter an exciting day at the latest Todays Runner, Stubbington and Farnham Runners cannot be separated at the top of the league.

A slippery, muddy and hilly course saw Stubbington's mens and ladies teams both take 1st place, and ensure the last two races will be very interesting.

The ladies team saw 3 Stubbington runners come home in the first 10 (Georgie Gair 2nd, Penny Forse 7th and Bev Lavery 9th), were well supported by Lou James 16th, Susie MacGregor 31st and Jane Butler 70th.

A strong mens team also saw 3 men in the first 10, Andy Simpson 2nd, Chris Hall 7th and Ray Gunner 8th.  Mike Harper in 18th and Malcolm Lavery in 48th completed the scoring team.

Other results:  Jon Leigh 51st, Mike Bell 61st, Tim Sullivan 83rd, Nick Kimber 99th, Nick Crane 108th, Neil Jarvis 126th, Andy Lee 139th, John Tussler 140th, Paul Hailwood 152nd, John Vose 156th, Derek Balsdon 162nd, Andy Tomlinson 171st.

A special mention for Peter Hailwood who struggled to finish in 190th place, but finish he did, limping home with a suspected case of Medial Tibial Stress Syndrome - "Shin Splints" to you lot!

So with Stubbington (3 firsts and a 3rd) and Farnham (3 firsts and a 4th), each team is allowed to drop their worst result, both teams look to Manor Farm to lock horns once again....

Special thanks to Hart Road Runners for the excellent food on offer after the race which was to celebrate their 25th anniversary, it was superb! Next year will be your 26th anniversary, any ideas on the menu?.....
