Today's Runner Preview

Lord Wandsworth College

IF you love your grub, then it could be worth your while turning out for the next round of the Today’s Runner Cross Country League.

Hart Road Runners are hosting the next round of the Sunday morning series on January 20th at 11am at Gavin Hall, Lord Wandsworth College in Long Sutton.

This year is the 25th anniversary of Hart Road Runners and to mark the occasion the North Hampshire club have organised a post-race feast for competitors in the race.

There will be a choice of chicken curry, rice and naan bread, or farmhouse vegetable soup and French bread and this will be served in the Gavin Hall afterwards for the princely sum of £1. Please ensure that muddy shoes are not worn in the hall after the race.

This will be the fourth race of the series. The course, which will be staged within the grounds of Lord Wandsworth College, will be just under 8km long, consisting mostly of woodland tracks and paths. It will be an undulating course and where possible obstacles and hazards will be clearly marked or marshalled.

Car parking is within the college grounds and will be signposted from the gates. Toilets will be available close to the car park and start, but unfortunately there are no changing facilities.

Lord Wandsworth College (postcode RG29 1TB) can be reached from junction 5 of the M3. Take the A287, then the B3349 via North Warnborough and Odiham. Go past the RAF Station and turn left at the bottom of the hill, through Long Sutton village. The College gates are just beyond the Four Horseshoes public house.

From Alton, take the B3349 to Hook then turn right just past South Warnborough. Go through Long Sutton village as above.

Race entry is free, so any Stubbies who have not taken part in a Today’s Runner event before, here is a perfect incentive to break that duck!
