Stubbington Green Runners

Today's Runner, Farnham

Andy Simpson & Georgie Gair TODAYS RUNNER (FARNHAM 14th December) (Provisional Results)

On a foggy morning 20 "Stubbies" made the journey to Bourne Woods in Farnham and were greeted at the start by a warning that "the puddles will cover your knees, and the course is in a worse state than we have ever seen it".

Unfortunately this didn't turn out to be the case, probably due to the amount of sand around the course draining the rainwater away. Georgie Gair led the ladies team home crossing the line in 2nd place, with Penny Forse (17), and Susie MacGregor (20) completing the team scores.

They were backed up by Georgie Wallis (30) and Jane Adlard (55), to ensure the ladies team finished in 2nd place behind Farnham Runners. Andy Simpson led the mens team home, crossing the line in 7th place, the rest of the mens scoring places were filled by, Mike White (9), Chris Hall (12), Jon Leigh (40), Mike Bell (47).

The other male finishers were, Nick Crane (50), Tim Sullivan (52), Phil May (67), Nick Kimber (70), Glen Street (75), Paul Hailwood (100), Andy Lee (109), Mike Harper (117), John Vose (129) and Andy Tomlinson (136).

This gave the men 4th place behind Farnham Runners (1st), Victory (2nd) and Hart (3rd).Overall this meant the top three were exactly the same as at Queen Elizabeth Country Park (Farnham 1st, and Stubbington tied 2nd with Hart).

As far as the League positions go, (remembering that you can drop your worst result), the top positions are (Farnham (1pt), Stubbington (2pts), Hart (2pts), Denmead, Liss and Victory, all 4 points each).

The next race is scheduled for Sunday 4th January at Pamber Forest nr Tadley, and is organised by Basingstoke & Mid Hants Athletic Club.
