Swindon Half Marathon
PHEW what a scorcher it was for the Swindon Half Marathon which attracted a total of 1,434 runners.
Among them was Stubbington’s Dave King who finished 205th in a time of 1hr 40min 51sec.
“The Swindon Half is one of the hilliest halfs around,” said Dave. “It is traffic-free and brilliantly organised, but there are some stinking climbs which hurt. The weather was blazing hot, and I suffered for the final three miles.”
The race was won by unattached runner, David Roper, in 1:14.34, and 14th-placed Rachael Elliott from Team Kennett was the leading lady in 1:22.37.
