Superheroes 5
DO you fancy being a Superhero and running to raise money for good causes in Hampshire?
The Superheroes 5 takes place at Itchen Valley Country Park in Allington Lane, West End on Saturday, July 5th, and is a five-mile romp around the park over a mixture of parkland and woodland.
Money from the race will go towards the Hampshire Autistic Society and Power FM's Help A Local Child. Besides the five-mile race which takes place at 2pm, there will also be a 2km children's race at 1.15pm, and for those who fancy a more leisurely pace, there will be a five-mile sponsored walk over a different route from 11am.
You don't have to dress up in Superhero garb since at the front end competition should be quite pacy. Last year's race was won by Chichester's James Baker in just over 23 minutes, with Southampton Running Club's Karen Rushton claiming women's honours.
The race is being organised by Stubby Dave King and run under the club banner. You can enter on the day, or you can enter in advance by downloading the following PDF entry form. All monies raised goes straight to the charity, and on the day there will be a number of stalls and sideshows including the Power FM roadshow. A number of Power FM DJs have already pledged to run.
Dave is also on the look-out for helpers on the day. If you have some free time on July 5th, then please email him at: peekay63@aol.com or call 07795-305206.
