The Hards family

THE Hards family came home with a sackful of prizes after their day out in Sussex.

Mum and dad, Beverley and Barry Hards, both took part in the 10km multi-terrain race, while daughters Ella-May and Kim competed in the 1km fun run.

For the 10km, the run was a tough course which took in some of the Seven Sisters’ marathon route in East Sussex, taking in grass, pavements, footpaths and downland tracks.

Barry finished fourth overall in a time of 40min 11sec and was first in the Vet 50 category. Bev was third lady home in a time of 46.08 for 32nd overall and first Vet 45.

Other members of the Hards clan competing were ninth-placed Lewis Hards in 42.10, and 17th placed Darryl Hards in 43.49.

The Hards family team of Barry, Lewis, Darryl and Bev picked up first prize in the social team event, and were third overall.

Geoff Gray from Seaford Striders won the men’s race in a time of 38.27 while third-placed Katy Moore from Brighton & Hove AC was the top female runner in 40.11 from a field of 144 runners.
