Saab Salomon Turbo X Challenge
YOU'VE got to be mental to take on the Saab Salomon Turbo X Challenge.
It's 10 miles of mud, hills and a lot of fun at Bordon, north of Petersfield. "A hellish, extreme run for the mad and insane... and I loved it!" said one competitor afterwards
Several Stubbies took on the challenge including Paul Hailwood. "We had a crazy day in the mud.
"This was a very cold start with a course that required waist deep bogs, near vertical mud hills and plenty of sticky gooey mud. But what a great day and fun way to go running!
"The organisation was fantastic and the atmosphere very friendly. Helping each other out of the bogs made for a great 'Dunkirk Spirit'.
"I do not think anybody was worried about their times, but I am sure that all who took part are stark raving bonkers!!"
The run was won by Rob Hope from Salomon in a time of 59min 23sec.
Jon Henderson was the first Stubby home in 248th place with a time of 1hr 35min 51sec, followed by Peter Hailwood in 340th with 1:43.44 and Paul Hailwood in 343rd in 1:43.50. Alex Frost checked in at the finish in a muddy time of 1:58.02 for 479th from a field of 524 competitors.
