RR10
IT was one heck of a hilly race, but 21 Stubbies headed for Lordswood to take part in the penultimate race in the RR10 series.
The two-lap race across a 4.8-mile course took no prisoners. “That was one hilly RR10 race,” said Gary Littlecott afterwards. “I got round without injury, but I was exhausted afterwards.”
In the absence of some of the club’s big guns, it was left to teenager Lewis Banner to lead the team home with 13th place, followed by the ever-dependable Tim Crumpton in 49th. Nick Crane (61st) and Nick Kimber (81st) followed, with Phil May completing the men’s A team scoring in 92nd.
For the women, it was Penny Forse who led the ladies home in 16th, and she was well supported by 20th placed Lou James and high-flying Gill Rose in 36th.
The final round of the RR10 takes place at the IBM Hursley Park headquarters near Otterbourne, on Wednesday, August 20th (7.15pm start).
