Isle of Wight Half Marathon
DREW Briggs was delighted with his run at the Isle of Wight Half Marathon where he slashed more than 10 minutes off his personal best time.
He finished 90th overall in a time of 1hr 47min 51sec, knocking 10min 11sec off his best time.
“It was hot and hilly,” said Drew afterwards.
A total of 172 runners took part in the race organised by Ryde Harriers and which was won by Isle of Wight Road Runners’ Paul Cameron in 1:15.42.
Katy Moore from Brighton & Hove AC captured the women’s race in 1:22.07 which was based at Sandown & Shanklin Rugby Club with a single-lap undulating course taking in Yaverland, Whitecliff, Bembridge, St Helens and back to Sandown via Brading.
