Hook 10-Mile

Annie Tomlinson & Verity WrightVERITY WRIGHT and Annie Tomlinson were caught Hook, line and sinker by a couple of personal bests in North Hampshire.

The two Stubbettes took part in the Hook 10-mile race. “It was a well organised event,” said Annie. “The course was essentially flat with a couple of longish inclines in the first 5 miles.”

There were 279 finishers which saw Annie finish 17th in 1hr 20min 26sec, and Verity was 41st in 1:26.48 – both best times for the 10-mile distance. Verity’s dad, Tim Tribe, also took part, and he finished 178th in a time of 1:55.31.

The race was won by Richard Gowen from Alton Runners in 54min 15sec. The first lady home was Jenny Gray from Sandhurst Joggers in 1:06.51.

The course started and finished at Hook Junior School and took in a route which passed through Rotherwick and Newnham before hooking back to the village of Hook.
