MARCH will be a busy month for Georgie Gair as she takes on some of the country’s best young cross country talent around the UK.
Georgie, who won the ladies' race at our Today’s Runner event at Manor Farm Country Park did so after finishing fourth senior girl at the Southern Inter-Counties Schools’ Cross Country Championships at Paddock Wood in Kent the day before.
Georgie, running for Hampshire, was part of the gold medal-winning team on a muddy, hilly, energy-sapping course, but she still had enough energy reserves to win at Manor Farm.
Having finished fourth in the Hampshire Schools’ XC County Championships on January 19th, the fine result in Kent confirmed Georgie's place in the county schools’ team for the English Schools AA Cross Country Championships in Liverpool on March 8th.
On March 15th, she will represent Hampshire at the National Inter-Counties XC at Nottingham, having qualified with a brilliant third place in the Hampshire Cross Country Championships at Dibden on January 5th.
A third place at the Southern Colleges Cross County Championships at Brockenhurst, also in January, has ensured Georgie of a place at the British Colleges Cross Country Championships at Loughborough in April.
