Everton 10km
THERE were perfect running conditions for the Everton 10km race in the New Forest with 308 runners completing the course – among them Stubbington’s Eric Beck and Robert Spencer.
The race starts and finishes in Everton village situated between New Milton and Lymington. It is a tale of two halves. The first is fairly flat and out in the open, whilst the second half is mainly shaded by trees - welcome on a hot day but it is a bit undulating.
Ian White from Bournemouth A.C. won the race with a time of 33min 31sec following a sprint finish to the line with Metros’ Nigel Rackham, who was the first Male Vet. 40 in 33.33.
Sue True of Winchester & Distrct AC was the first lady to finish and 27th overall with a time of 39.30.
In his first race since March, Eric ran a time of 48.52 for 144th place, while Robert was 275th in 1hr 2min 34sec.
