Eastleigh 10km
ENTRIES are coming in fast for the Eastleigh 10km which forms part of the Hampshire Road Race League. So get in quick!
This year's race, organised by Southampton Running Club, takes place on Sunday, March 16th.
David Blackman, the race director, reports that by Thursday they had passed 1300 entries. "At the current rate we will have reached the limit of 1,800 by January 25th," said David.
"The general public seems to have taken to the race en masse this year. But it is our aim to maintain this as a quality, accessible Hampshire Road Race League event, so please get your teams to send their entries this weekend (January 19th/20th)."

The next HRRL fixture is the Ryde 10 on February 3rd and as in the past, Stubbington Green Runners is offering £10 to help club members with the cost of travel across to the island for the event. Once again, entry details can be found on the HRRL website.
Half way into the HRRL season after the Stubbington 10k, SGRAC's men lie sixth in Division 1 and the B team 13th. Winchester & District AC head both divisions. For the women, the ladies are once again in contention for promotion holding third place on 18pts, three points behind Eastleigh Running Club. City of Salisbury are the runaway Division 2 leaders with five points, with two teams going up. SGRAC's women's team hold 11th spot in the B division.
On the individual front, Alton Runners' Richard Gowan heads the men's standings with Mark Le Gassick, who missed the Stubbington 10km through injury, in 12th, Zippy Grice is 38th, Alasdair Ewing is 85th and Andy Simpson holds 94th place.
For the women, Susie MacGregor who has once again had a fantastic season on the road and finished 27th at Stubbington - second in the Vet 35 age group - lies fourth overall after five races with 345 points. Kathy Harvey from City of Salisbury ARC leads the standings with 470 points. Also in the top 100 are Stubbington's Bev Lavery in 16th, Lucy Simmons in 20th, Louise James in 23rd and Gill Rose who is 65th.
