Race Diary, April
APRIL'S racing fare is pretty thin on the ground, but what events there are taking place after Easter are rich in interest.
Of course, many runners' minds will be turned towards the Flora London Marathon on Sunday, April 13th - and a dozen-strong group of Stubbies will be focused on the Paris Marathon a week earlier.
But what else is their to whet the appetite? Well, at the same time that that green-vested Stubbies will be frolicking around gay Paris, so there is the Totton 10k and the Arundel Castle 10k on Sunday, April 6th. The Totton event is part of the Hampshire Road Race League.
Staying in Arundel, but the West Sussex venue is also hosting one of the most picturesque races of the month with the 10km Bluebell Trail Run around the Angmering Park Estate.
And don't forget that April sees the start of the RR10 season with the traditional opener at the Royal Victoria Country Park in Netley on Wednesday, April 23rd with a 7pm start. It's free, it's close to home, and it's quite a gentle course of paths and some woodland - so what's the excuse.
More details of these and other events can be found in the April Race Calendar.
