The Book!
IF you're looking for a Christmas present with a difference this year; something to give to a friend you've fallen out with, an annoying member of your family who has got everything, or perhaps you are short of fuel for the fire, then how about this?
Dave King has just had published his first - and last - book: "Around The British Isles in 80 Races" (AuthorHouse).
It's an extremely dull read about his adventures during 2007 of running around the nation - from the far north-west of Scotland to Land's End, in England, Ireland and Wales.
He raced a train and ran with a dog. He dressed as Scooby Doo, Santa and a banana, and even won a race inside a prison. Dave took part in races as big as the London Marathon and the Great North Run, historic runs like the Braemar Highland Games and the Wenlock Olympian Games, to smaller events such as the Tickhill Gala Run and the Spilsby Show.
Stubbington Green Runners features prominently in the book, which has a serious side in dealing with autism and the impact it has had on his life.
All the proceeds from this pretty pedestrian and limp read will go to the Hampshire Autistic Society. The book is overpriced at an excessive £6.80
