Combe Gibbet to Overton 16

Paul HammondIT was muddy but the Combe Gibbet to Overton 16-mile cross country run remains as popular as ever.
A total of 151 runners took part in this year’s event, with Paul Hammond the lone Stubbie taking part.

Paul finished 59th overall in a time of 2hrs 20min 59sec.

The race, organised by Overton Harriers, starts at Come Gibbet near Inkpen in Berkshire – close to the start of the Test Way Relay, and takes runners along paths and bridleways, plus a short section of road, to Overton in North Hampshire.

This year’s event was won by Mark Richards from Headington Road Runners in Oxfordshire with a time of 1hr 45min 10sec, and the first woman home was ninth-placed Lesley Whiley in 1:55.34.
