Blackmore Vale Half Marathon

Chris HallCHRIS Hall took himself out for a romp in the countryside at the weekend. Buoyed by his beloved Pompey's performance in holding mighty Chelsea to a 1-1 draw at Fratton Park, Chris headed for Sherborne in Dorset to take part in the 16th edition of the Blackmore Vale Half Marathon.

Organised by the Blackmore Vale Lions Club, proceeds from this year's 13-miler went to the charity Sight First.

Chris finished in 10th place with a time of 1hr 22min 13sec which he was pleased with. "There were fairly strong headwinds up to half way," he said. "It was quite a tough course."

Also running was fellow Stubby Aitken Hunter who placed 455th in a time of 1:53.22.

A total of 465 runners took part with Adrian Marriott from Yeovil Town RRC coming home first in 1:09.11, and Jenny Moore from Wells City Harriers was the leading lady come home in 23rd overall in a time of 1:24.44.
