Berlin Marathon

Mike Bainbridge

ZEHR gut Herr Bainbridge, der marathon man!

Mad Mike took on the Berlin Marathon as part of a fund-raiser for Titchfield Primary School. He was raising money to buy a trailer for the school’s niftily named steel pan band, ‘Pans Ablaze’.

Having run under three hours for his previous six marathons, ranging from 2hrs 45min in 2004 and 2.58 in London last year, Mike was determined to keep the times going.

He didn’t disappoint to clock a magnificent 2hrs 54min 13sec.

“If the start of the New York over the Verrazano bridge is the most inspiring start to a marathon then the finish off the Berlin through the Brandenburg gate is certainly one of the best finishes and things got better thereafter,” said Mike, who raised £1,600 for the school.
