Beginner's Course
HOW is that New Year's resolution going to keep fit? Proving a bit of a struggle, or maybe late in the day you've realised that the only way you are going to be able to pinch less than an inch is to get fit?
Well, if you're not a member of Stubbington Green Runners, and just browsing this website to avoid the washing up, putting the children to bed or because you're fed up with Facebook, then how's this for an idea?
Stubbington Green Runners is holding an eight-week beginners' running course just after Easter.
We have successfully run these taster sessions for the past couple of years and many of those who have come along have joined the club because they loved it so much!
The course will run every Wednesday from April 2nd to May 21st.
We meet at Crofton School in Stubbington for a prompt 6. 30pm start. After the training session, a series of guest speakers will give talks on a variety of subjects related to running and keeping fit, e.g. Alexandra Sports from Portsmouth will be coming to talk about footwear and kit.
The course is suitable for all abilities. Absolute beginners can be assured we will treat them gently – we are trying to encourage not discourage and each session will be supported by members who have many years of experience between them.
For safety reasons we must restrict the numbers to a maximum of 30 so apply now to be certain of a place.
If you are uncertain about signing up, or if you want to join, then call one of the following numbers for more information:
Christine Haskell 01489 582996
Glen Street 01329 845330
Chris Hall 02392 355498
It is recommended that you speak with your doctor to ensure your fitness to participate before applying.
The cost of the course is £18 which is includes one year's club membership - not bad value!
