St Valentine's 30km Race

THERE was no love lost for Dave King at the Stamford Striders' St Valentine's 30km road race. "The hills, those bloomin' hills," lamented Dave, after the Lincolnshire race which was the latest run in his round Britain running challenge.

"This was a great race, which runs through four counties - Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire, Leicestershire and Rutland, but the hills are relentless. "I was surprised because I was expected a pretty flat course with a few undulations, but this was a toughie.

Great race, though, with some wonderful marshalls who offered encourgement throughout." Dave ran a steady 2hr 21min 41sec for the race, which is old currency was run over 18.6 miles.

Next up is the Great East Run 20km race in Bungay, Suffolk, this Sunday.
