Today's Runner League
Stubbington finished equal 3rd with Victory AC in the Todays Runner Cross Country league, behind Liss Runners (1st ) and Farnham Runners (2nd).
The overall team position in each race was 8th, 4th, 11th, 6th, 2nd and 1st. This is a team event and as such there is no official ladies and mens races.
However, I do keep records of all the results, which make interesting reading, and if the trend towards the end of the season continues into next season Stubbington could well challenge for the title.
The mens team would have finished 5th if there had been a mens event, having placed 4th, 2nd, 9th, 10th, 4th and 2nd in the 6 races. But it was the ladies results that possibly point to a good next season.
They also finished 5th (equal with Midhurst Milers), having finished 10th, 10th, 15th, 2nd, 2nd, and 1st, the last three results reflecting the return to form of Penny Forse, and the appearance of Bev Lavery and Louise James on the scene.
Individually, 35 different men represented the club over the 6 races. Ray Gunner finished in the top ten in three of the races, Chris Hall finished in the top ten in his two outings, as did Andy Simpson. Mike Bell and John Vose appeared in all six races, Tim Crumpton, Nick Crane, Andy Lee and Derek Balsdon in 5, Derek forfeiting the chance of a 100% record by helping to marshal our own race.
16 ladies represented the club over the 6 races, with top ten finishes for Penny Forse (3), Bev Lavery (3) and Lou James (1). Chris Haskell was the only lady to take part in all 6 races, with Penny missing just 1.

Thanks to everyone that has taken part - and lets keep up the form of the latter part of the season next year.
