Today's Runner
Portsmouth Joggers are hosting the first fixture in the Todays Runner Winter League at Queen Elizabeth Country Park.
They have requested that runners arrive at the start at 10:50am on Sunday 11th November to allow time to observe one minutes silence.
Car Parking: As you enter the park, clearly marshalled, free for race only. If you park in the public car parks you will need to pay the appropriate fee (or be fined!)
The Course: starts above and finishes in the bottom field, which is approximately 500 metres from the car park, it will be clearly markd and marshalled. The course is undulating and made up of flinty tracks, woodland floor, rutted paths, and possiby some mud. Please be aware of roots, stumps and low branches.
First Aid: They hope to have St John Ambulance in attendance but runners take part at their own risk.
Toilets: are in the park centre but unfortunately there are no shower facilities.
Refreshments: will be served in the annexe (close to the park centre) after the race for the usual £1 bargain price.
Please Remember: Wear your club vest and observe the speed restrictions. Please do not leave baggage in the park centre as this is a public area.
And a message from Glen Street - unfortunately I will not be there to cheer you all on as I have to play golf (a birthday present from my sister). Can anyone take the results for me ? Either ring me or email on glen.street@ntlworld to offer your services.
Good luck and whip round as quick as you can - it's only 8K !
