Tadley Runners 10km
RAY and Joan Oliver ventured to North Hampshire at the weekend to take part in the Tadley Runners 10km road race.
They were among 188 runners who completed the race at Hurst Community College which was won by Steve Rees-Jones from nearby Basingstoke & Mid Hants AC in 32min 24sec - a good two minutes ahead of second-placed Richard Jenkin from Hillingdon AC in Middlesex.
Southampton Running Club's Karen Rushton took the ladies' honours in a time of 39.14 for 16th place overall.
As for the Olivers, it was Ray who crossed the finish line first in 54th place with 45.55, and Joan was not far away in 60th with 46.21 and first in the Vet45 age group.
