Solent Mind
Solent Mind, the Southampton based mental health charity, is looking for runners to take part in the British 10km run in London this summer.
The charity is entering three teams for the race which is being held in the capital on Sunday, July 1st.
Solent Mind is looking for people willing to run on the charity's behalf to raise funds to enable us to continue providing much needed mental health services across Southampton and Hampshire.
A spokesman said: " We currently support about 2000 people every year with information and guidance, help with getting back to work, advocacy, work with new communities, horticultural therapy, and much more. Nationally Mind campaigns in support of people with mental health problems."
Last year, 12 runners completed the course in times ranging from 40 to 90 minutes with over £2000 raised. Chief Executive, Richard Barritt, who completed the race in 45 minutes said at the time 'it was great fun and worth every drop of sweat'.
This is a fabulous opportunity to take part in the London 10km and a chance to assist a local charity with its fundraising. Teams of 6 or more individuals may apply.
