Runner's World Top 100
THE Runner's World list of top 100 UK races has been published and sadly, for the second year running, the Stubbington 10km road race has failed to make the illustrious list.
The popular event had previously been a popular regular in this prestigious poll, which is based on readers' votes of more than 3,000 races.
The London Marathon once again retained its position at the top of the pile, ahead of the BUPA Great South Run in Portsmouth - two great events, but pricey to enter!
As Runner's World explain in their criteria: "Our Top 100 is a subjective list - we've scored races based on our impression of criteria such as the quality of its organisation, the appeal of the course for personal best potential or challenge, if it offers any unique or special flavour; its value for money and the quality of competition."
The poll organisers also weighted their top 100 based on a reader-rated top 50, where to feature in this esteemed list, races had to garner at least 15 votes.
The Brass Monkey Half Marathon in York came out on top ahead of the Easy Runner Sodbury Slog in Chipping Sodbury, Bristol.

3 Swansea Bay 10k
4 Great Edinburgh 10k
5 Hastings Half Marathon.
