RR10 Fixtures
THE final piece in the RR10 fixture puzzle has been slotted into place for this summer.
Team Southampton had hoped to stage their race at the Rose Bowl, which hosted an RR10 race two years ago. But John MacInnes from the club reports that they can't get hold of the home of Hampshire cricket for the event on May 30th, so instead they will host the event at the Longdown Inclosure near Ashurst.
This is basically the same venue as the May 2nd event at Deerleap Inclosure, with parking by the Otter & Owl Sanctuary, but a different course.
So these are the RR10 fixtures, pencil them into your diaries. Clearly they clash with club night at Stubbington, and also the first few weeks will cross over with the beginner's running course. However, if you would like to take part then feel free to do so.
It costs nothing, you don't have to wear a number, no times are taken and what better way than to spend a Wednesday evening going off for a tramp in the woods (ooh err missus!!)? Nearer the time, please let Dave King or Mark Le Gassick know whether you can make it or not, just so we get a rough indication of numbers.
Wednesday, April 18th: Royal Victoria Country Park, Netley (7pm start).
Wednesday, May 2nd: Deerleap Inclosure, Ashurst, Totton (by the Otter & Owl Sanctuary) (7.15pm).
Wednesday, May 16th: Wilverley Inclosure, Nr Sway, Lymington (7.30pm).
Wednesday, May 30th: Longdown Inclosure, Ashurst (7.30pm).
Wednesday, June 6th: Itchen Valley Country Park, West End (7.30pm).
Wednesday, June 20th: Cadland Park, Hardley (7.30pm).
Wednesday, July 4th: Manor Farm Country Park, Hedge End (7.30pm). (This is Stubbington's host race with Eastleigh Running Club where we provide marshalls - you cannot run!)
Wednesday, July 18th: Janesmoor Pond, Stoney Cross, New Forest (7.30pm).
Wednesday, August 1st: Stoke Park Woods, Fair Oak (7.30pm).
Wednesday, August 15th: IBM, Hursley Park (7.15pm).
